Throughout history, generations have been defined by the advent of technology. From the transistor and the personal computer to the Internet and the iPhone, innovation and invention have served as driving forces that inform generational identity.
In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, that identity is apparent in the way different generations use the Internet, the way they value its importance, and the overall role digital experiences play in their lives. For example,a Baby Boomer born in the 1950s will experience the Internet and the wider digital worlddifferently than a Millennial born in the 1980s—they have different levels of familiarity with the web,and it’s played a vastly different role in each of their lives.
