Key foreign direct investment trends spotted include:
·For a 4thyear running,the renewable energy sectorhas attracted the highest total capital investment globally
·Inbound FDIfor China declined further in 2022.Compared to 2019,the number of projects into China last year were down 60%
·Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in early 2022,the number ofannounced FDI projects into Russia plummeted to only 13
·Foreign investors annaunced a total of 2415 forelgn direct
investment (FDD projects in the tourtsm cluster berween 2018 and2022 according to fDi Merkets,the greenfeld investment monitorof the Finenctel Times.These projedis invoved a tofal capitalinvestment of51755bn and creeted an estimeted 388.000 jobs.
·While intemational travel continues to rebound from thecoronavnus pandemik,the number af greenfield forelgn directinvestment (FDD projects in the tourism cluster started its
tentative recovery in 2022 after posting declines in both 2020 and2021

·As one of the areas of FD most affected by the coroneviruspandemie,tourism has taken a lbng time to recover from the inttalshock of 2020 —when the sectar expertenced a 59%year-an-yeer decreese in the number of prdjects,drapping to 3t2.Captralinvestment in the seclor also expertenced a 70%decresse withestimated capital investment dropping from $oa9bn to 518.2bn.
·The leading destinetion region for tourism FDl prajecis in2022 was Westem Europe with 143 annaunced investments at acombihed estimated valre af 52.2bn.
